After a career of 39 years in Office Administration with a year's diversion as a Patisserie proprietor, Barbara moved to the Sunshine Coast with her husband in 1998. Barbara became interested in painting in 2008 when she undertook a watercolour painting course with Diane Somers Cook. She relished the experience of attempting to paint and seeing some improvement as she practised the techniques delivered in the weekly workshops.

Since then she has attended several Watercolour workshops by Jenny MacNaughton, Barry McCann, Cees Sliedrecht and Ross Paterson as well as Oil and Acrylic workshops with Todd Whisson, Michael Winters, Aileen Shaw, Victoria Fitzpatrick and Kasey Sealy.

Barbara's inspiration comes from the surrounding landscape. She is both challenged and excited to create images that express her impression of what she sees; enjoying the form which emerges of both the landscape and flowers in both watercolour, acrylic and oil.

As a member of the Blackall Range Visual Artists, Barbara has been enjoying the chance to share ideas and take part in workshops and exhibitions within the group.
